Honolulu Insulation was founded in 2024 by insulation professionals who live and work right here on Oahu. We started the company because we kept seeing homes in East Honolulu, Hawaii Kai, Aina Haina, and the surrounding neighborhoods that were uncomfortable, expensive to cool, and quietly developing moisture problems - all caused by inadequate or aging insulation. Hawaii homes have specific needs that mainland contractors do not always understand.
East Honolulu sits in a warm, humid coastal climate with year-round sun, trade wind pressure, and salt air from the Pacific. Many of the homes here were built in the 1960s and 1970s with minimal insulation - long before energy efficiency was a priority. We set out to fix that, one home at a time, using materials and techniques suited to this specific climate.
